As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, PT. JGC Indonesia has continued its "Indonesia Mengajar" initiative by organizing a Safety Education program at SD Pondok Labu 01, South Jakarta, in June 2024. The school is located near PT. JGC Indonesia's office in the Pondok Labu area.

This program aimed to educate students on the importance of waste management and fire safety. The PT. JGC Indonesia team began the activity by explaining the difference between organic and inorganic waste, and how to properly manage both types. Following the waste management session, the students were taught how to safely extinguish a fire using a fire extinguisher.

The JGC Indonesia team for this event included Mrs. Indri Firna (CSR Coordinator), Mr. Mansur Rusdiana (HSE Officer), Mr. Agung Laksono (Fire Safety Coordinator), and Mrs. Francine Ajeng Krisita (waste management practitioner). Each team member played a key role in delivering the information in an engaging and accessible way for the students.

To make the session more interactive and fun, a quiz was held, where students who answered questions correctly were rewarded with prizes, creating a lively and educational atmosphere.

At the end of the event, PT. JGC Indonesia donated two fire extinguishers and two waste bins to the school. This contribution is expected to help the school maintain a cleaner environment and improve fire preparedness.

Through this program, PT. JGC Indonesia once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting education and safety in schools, contributing to the development of a future generation that is mindful of cleanliness and safety. (2024/TG)
